The Joy of Skiing

One of the last days of our season this year was unlike any other.

In fact, skiing history was made.

Grace Brulotte became the first physically disabled tandem ski skier to heli-ski!

Her and Scott Courtemanche are two halves of one game-changing, barrier-breaking, pow-slaying hella-inspiring team.

Their home town of Fernie rallied around in support of her goals and vision, of which heli-skiing was only one part, and a documentary will eventually be released following Grace’s journey to re-define what’s possible and keep going FAST.

It was really a privilege to be host to this dynamic duo and the crew they brought along.

Despite a host of challenges and limitations, if there’s one word that we felt from being around Grace, that word would be JOY.

This woman loves to ski and loves to be in the mountains. We share that essential drive, and it was humbling to be re-acquainted with that pure joy on a whole new level.

It’s all about the huge grin, the joy of having fun, the WAHOOO!

Couldn’t be a better way to close a season of fun in the mountains.

Check out Grace’s account of this record-setting day here and the latest updates on their project here.

Happy spring!
